Intimidated by the Game of Craps? How to Learn Craps Painlessly

By Silas Twist

Have you been to a casino and seen all the excitement around the crap table, but are too intimidated to play the game? Well, it is totally understandable, but you are missing out on a lot of fun.

At first look, the game does seem to be complicated and bewildering. There are "checks" (sometimes wrongly called chips) all over the table, the language used makes no sense, the layout has all kinds of writing on it, and to top it off, everything is moving fast. No way you want to step up to the table, and look like an idiot.

This is a great game for entertainment, and there is an easy way to learn the basics without buying a book or feeling intimidated. Just look for a crap table that has two dealers, a stickman, and box man "standing dead". Standing dead means, no one is playing right now. The best time to catch a dead table is between early morning and noon. Walk up to the table and ask the box man (the one sitting down) "I would like to play craps but don't know how."

That's it! The dealers will take care of you until you leave the table. Ask any questions you want, don't worry about making mistakes, you have four dealers watching your every move and offering you advice.

Within half an hour you will not only know the dos and don'ts of the game of craps, you will be able to step up to a crowded craps table and be able to hold your own with no problems.
